Phontech History - Phontech

Phontech slide 3

Phontech was established in 1987 as a spin off from the company Phonico. Key personnel in the original team developed a product range in close cooperation with customers.

One of these customers was the Royal Norwegian Navy.

Phontech became a member of the Jotron Group from 1997, delivering a complete range of internal communication systems for ships and offshore purposes.

On November 1, 2018, Phontech became an official part of the Zenitel Group. For full details regarding the acquisition, view the press release.

Research & Development

From its inception, Phontech has had its own, dedicated Research & Development (R&D) department. Products are mainly produced by our own staff. Next-generation products are developed based on the latest technology and are designed to meet all standards for onboard communication systems.

As a part of the Zenitel Group, Phontech’s R&D department will continue work as before, but will also join forces with Zenitel’s R&D, which produces products under the Vingtor-Stentofon brand. This will allow both brands and groups to leverage synergies, enhancing technological advancements and solutions.
